The Moon Wants Me To Leave You v0.5
Hello, all!
I have not made a thing in quite some time.
This is untrue. I am making things behind the scenes nearly constantly, but they have not manifested themselves into... things lately. In the local and nearly global self-quarantine in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, my brain has been doing a number on me--worse sleep than the previous just-bad sleep, difficulty getting down to business, a general kind of stir-craziness.
I imagine that part of that is what manifests itself as The Moon Wants Me To Leave You. I was processing at some point the challenges that relationships have when a totally external force that isn't deliberately acting against your ability to maintain relationships with others still affects that relationship in this seemingly intangible but obviously indelible manner, and the complexity of bringing it up in an attempt to reforge that relationship.
A lot of the things that such an image metaphorises are particularly complicated, and this game is probably not for everyone, but I was really interested in making another deeply emotional two-player game, especially for the quarantined state that we're in, so folks may have a thing to tinker with that can draw out some emotional performance alongside your partners, roommates, friends, or whoever else you may be sharing close personal space with at the moment.
Before and during play, consider these safety tools as part of the process of play and ensuring the security of those in the space of play.
Thank you for considering this game. I hope you are keeping safe in these stressful times.
With love,
Brandon
